Inspired by the typical mall ideas from the E.Leclerc in France

With a waving white façade, the E.Leclerc - a shopping mall has attracted attention of residents and customers in France. The shop was designed by the Atelier REC with the combination with wooden tones for a soothing exterior.

The designers wanted to change the idea of the typical mall where waste predominates with an alternative architecture focusing on the environmental qualities so that the whole project would be more economical in its use of energy while also providing a calm and comfortable tone that corresponds to contemporary standards.
The building has a low consumption and is created with low impact CO2 materials. The white wave outdoors provides a 30% reduction of the energy needed and the division into four separate volumes reduces the greenhouse effect to act as a model for future developments of this kind.
The style of the mall is inspired from the Arcachonnaise style of the region but with contemporary features that would suit the shopping center of the 21st century.

The beauty in design from one of the largest shopping malls in the world

We are pleasured to bring you the design of Groove, one of the largest shopping malls in the world. This Groove is an extension of the Central World Shopping Center in Bangkok, China and created by the practice of Synthesis Design + Architecture in 2013. The aesthetic if the extension wants to capture the atmosphere of the alfresco dining experience and the café culture in Europe but with the intimacy of the Soi’s. The façade of the project faces the Ploenchit Road and the BTS Skytrain so the roof and exterior provide a good view of the surroundings.
There are continuous horizontal lines in the facade that adapt to the dimensions needed for restaurants, retail shops or terraces and the main material is a back lit aluminum panel that incorporates lighting, graphics and a unique glow effect during the nighttime.
The need for climate control was reduced due to the outdoor dining experience and a system of open air trellis which are fitted into a retractable canopy to protect from both rain and sun.
