This massive 5,300 square foot contemporary residence in San Diego, California, USA was envisioned by architect Jonathan Segal as a solid concrete building with plenty of openings maximizing communication with the outdoors: “Due to the unusually small property in an area with typical properties three to four times the size, every square foot was important. The exterior room was a key element in creating a home that otherwise would have felt small, to feel larger and more private than it is. While this space creates a void, the overall form of the building is kept intact”.
Different from every standpoint, the Cresta Residence by Jonathan Segal offers an original living experience to say the least. Its clean lines and minimalist interior design approach go hand in hand with modern comfort and subtle opulence. Sustainability was a key factor in the development process, with the roof solar panels and other ingenious systems supplying nearly 100% of the overall needed power.

This beautiful apartment in Gothenburg, Sweden, with an area of about 82 square meters, occupies the last floor of a traditional building. Its interiors are truly inspiring, with wood playing a major part in the overall design. The layout of the apartment (discovered onAlvhem) is relatively simple, with the social area on a side, and the two bedrooms on the other. Walnut parquet floors run through the entire loft, contrasting the white walls and subtle color additions. Kitchen, dining area and lounge zone are all integrated in an open plan scheme, with access to a lovely terrace.
Wooden beams can be spotted in the living room, as well as in the bathrooms and bedrooms, which gives the place a vibe of its own. Another eye-catching element is the rounded brick dressing area, adding a rustic touch. Unlike the rest of the Swedish apartments we presented on Freshome, this one showcases a higher percentage of diversity. Enjoy the original details and feel free to share your findings with us.

Here is an amazing apartment that we are certain will not leave you indifferent. After all, who can resist a fresh, spacious loft, conveniently situated in a beautiful historic building and tastefully displaying exposed beams, a lovely chimney, lavish cuisine, tasteful arrangements and views of Gothenburg’s red and green rooftops? Found on Alvhem, the crib you are about to discover is structured on two levels, one of which is actually an expansion of the initial apartment and is situated on the top building floor. The views in the “attic” are absolutely fantastic and the interior design is flawless. The bottom level features three rooms plus kitchen and can be characterized by bright colors, combined with an excellent dim lighting scheme. The open plan living room with rustic elements (beams and bricks) creates a highly welcoming environment for having friends over. One could say this apartment has it all; what’s your opinion?
